The artist writes, “Near Ovando, Montana, lies a beautiful and historic section of the state. I’ve spent many days photographing and fishing in these parts. It’s especially meaningful to me to approach a large-scale painting based on a setting that is close to home and dear to our family. In a piece like this, it’s rewarding to infuse the process with personal memories and sentiment.”
