The artist writes, “On my first Alaskan Yukon moose hunt some 30 years ago, I paddled seven days in and out of waterways, beaver dams and muskegs in a canoe. In my mind’s eye, I envisioned this scene over and over again, wishing that around the next bend would be a giant bull moose. As the evening fades into purple crimson twilight, the ‘encounter’ I envisioned plays out unexpectedly, but welcomed.”
