Dean Porter wrote in his biography of Victor Higgins, “No site was unimportant to Higgins, whether the majestic mountain range or a small clump of trees surrounding an adobe. His studio on wheels afforded him the opportunity to travel throughout the wilds of New Mexico, from which he drew inspiration for panel after panel. Sprawling mountain ranges capped with green foliage, rusty outcroppings of iron, and small pueblo towns nestled in valleys – he painted all of them.”
