Describing this painting Elmer Kelton wrote, “Shouting in jubilation, waving hats and rifles, mountain men gallop into rendezvous for a riotous round of pelt trading, horse racing, card playing, whiskey drinking, and an all-around good time. After frenzied celebration, many will have to go into debt to outfit themselves for a return to the mountains.”
