2014 Coeur d’Alene Art Auction / Lot 154
According to Larry Len Peterson, “One of Goodwin’s favorite pastimes was canoeing. Close to home, he paddled the waters around Mamaroneck, New York, and on his frequent sketching trips he seldom missed an opportunity to spend time on the water. One often finds Goodwin’s paintings depicting canoe travel as the mode of transportation. Within some paintings, a canoe affords a leisure means of getting from one location to another, but often the trip becomes more daring as canoeists paddle down perilous rapids.”
