The artist writes, “One of my favourite subjects to paint is the wolf. To me, they are the spirit of the wild, with their graceful and expressive beauty. Mainly confined to the wilderness margins these days, they bring to mind what Edward Hoagland once said: ‘A mountain with a wolf on it stands a little taller.’ I couldn’t have put it better myself!”
