VERSO
Signed, titled, and dated
A letter from the artist discussing the painting will accompany the lot.
In discussing this painting, the artist wrote, “I got the idea for this painting while on the railroad from Skagway to Whitehorse. On the Alaskan summit I saw this roaring stream coming down from the snowfields and felt it would be a good subject matter with its white foaming water and little waterfalls on the side coming in to it. It is early summer, the grass and shrubs are green and there is a clearness to the air.”
