The artist writes, “This painting was inspired by the adventurous spirit of the 1930s and ’40s – a golden era when families and solo travelers took to the open road to explore America’s beloved National Parks. Yosemite, established in 1890, had quickly become a must-see destination, known for its breathtaking beauty, towering granite cliffs, thundering waterfalls, ancient sequoias, and of course, its iconic black bears.
“I imagined a lighthearted moment where a young woman, traveling in her classic 1930s Ford, finds herself in the middle of a bit of mischief – surrounded by curious bears. One leans in just close enough to make her laugh.”
