VERSO
Artist label with signature, title, and date

According to the artist, “This Hamley and Co. saddle holds local historical significance in the Nebraska Sandhills, where my family’s JHL Ranch is located. Commissioned by Night Lowe and crafted in 1923, it features detailed tooling and brass oxbows – making it an unusually elaborate saddle for its time. It stands as a testament to the original homesteader’s success in affording such a saddle, as well as the enduring efforts taken to keep the saddle in use after all these years.”
