VERSO
Label, Sandra Wilson Galleries, Denver, Colorado

Recalling the danger and drama of encountering buffalo in the wild, the artist wrote: “Buffalos have a hard time not looking menacing. They usually run from the intruder, but not always and that’s what you have to bear in mind during any confrontation. Libby and I have twice been charged by ill-tempered old bulls, unprovoked by us, but each time we were on wheels. For anyone on foot, the possibility of getting hurt is real. One of those charging episodes afforded me the chance to photograph a bull coming flat-out; it’s as dramatic a picture as any I’ve seen.”
