The artist writes, “The snow leopard, my favourite of all the big cats, partly because of its looks and partly because it is an almost mythical beast. It is a fabulously beautiful cat which lives a solitary existence in mostly inaccessible areas above 10,000 feet in the Himalayas and Altai Mountains. The snow leopard’s fur can be a challenge for an artist to paint but a challenge I relish each time I paint one of these beautiful animals.”
