Describing this painting the artist wrote, “There are traditions in some families that define who they are. The kitchen is one place that almost always has special memories of spending time with loved ones. Here, we see a family baking treats for a special occasion. I wanted to show the two worlds that go on between adults and the children.

“Down below, we see a young sister mimic her older sister above, using a bottle as a makeshift rolling pin. Sugary fillings are stolen from above and consumed voraciously from sticky spoons. Above, Victoria, one of the older sisters, sings a song, and soon all will join in.”
