The description is as follows: “Pueblo Indian Pack Outfit is a pencil drawing in color by Oscar E. Berninghaus... illustrator and painter of St. Louis and Taos. He was born in 1874, died in 1952. Drawing was purchased from Mrs. Berninghaus, widow (now dead) in 1964, Taos, NM. Drawing was sent to the artist’s dealer Noonan and Kocian in St. Louis, June 5, 1946. The drawing became a 16 x 20 painting which was sold January 1947. From the collection of Thomas S. McNeil.”
