The artist writes, “Duck and goose hunting is a long-running American pastime. For centuries, sporting artists have depicted water fowling scenes in paint, clay and exquisite hand crafted decoys. Artists create scenes that inspire them, and to me, this scene is no exception. I was raised hunting upland birds, waterfowl, and small and big game. Regardless of the hunting scenario, my goal is to create a truly memorable scene.
“When the sun gets low in the sky, and the evening colors of dusk cloak over the marsh, the birds begin to fly. This scene captures a moment that happens all to often – As soon as the golden lab retrieves the duck, and the hunter leaves the concealment of the blind, nine times out of ten, in come the ducks.”
