Born in Montpelier, France, Alphonse Desport studied in Paris and London before establishing a studio in New York, eventually settling in Kentucky. He painted several Indian scenes as well as birds, portraits, landscapes and a forty painting panorama of the life of Christ. Desport died in Bowling Green, Kentucky and his work can be found there in the Western Kentucky University Museum.
