According to the artist, “The winding creek bed that goes off into the distance, and the trailing pack horse, suggest that this young couple are on a journey of some length and importance. With a drawn bow at the ready, we can’t tell if the young brave is playing the part of an alert hunter and provider, or if he is sensing some unseen danger. Either way, he knows that to be the guardian and protector of his young bride, he must always be on high alert.”
