According to the artist, “The highest, most remote treeless regions with ground hugging plant life, endless rock slides and steep shale slopes provide habitat for Dall sheep. With striking white coats, they are difficult to spot against snow but conspicuously standout against snowless slopes. They may appear to be an easy target for predators; however, it is daunting to reach this rough, precipitous terrain – the rocky heights of Dall country.”
