Preparing for the Confrontation (2012)

According to Z. S. Liang, “Preparing for the Confrontation was inspired by an account I read of a group of Piegan Blackfeet warriors dating back to 1830 in Montana Territory. For several days and nights they have trailed the Crow horse stealers who had raided their village, and finally they have caught up with the Crow. It is early morning, and hidden from the Crow camp, the Blackfeet put on their war regalia. The warriors paint their faces and adorn their horses in hopes that these powerful medicines will assure victory in the coming fight.”
