A Cornish Huntsman is recorded in the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s Inventory of American Paintings.

Sydney Laurence lived in Cornwall, England from 1889 until he left for Alaska in 1904. While there, he was appointed a member of the Royal Society of British Artists and exhibited there for several years.
