The artist writes, “I wanted to create a painting that evokes the heat and dust of certain places in Africa. Zebra seemed the obvious choice as subjects for this painting because although whilst not generally thought of as aggressive creatures, when stallions fight it can be savage and I have seen huge amounts of dust being thrown up while they are engaged in a fight for females and dominance. Who will win this fight, or will it end up in a honourable draw?”
