The artist writes, “Polar bears are truly Kings of their environment, a large male as this is the most deadly land predator on the North American Continent. With the keenest of senses, he will travel countless miles of solid ice and sea for his prey – which usually consists of seals, walrus, whale carcass, or man. With the patience of Job, he will suffer and starve in the dark frigid environment plodding on and on until he catches a scent, an opportunity to feed.”
