Pleissner wrote, “I did a great many fishing paintings, and there were a lot of people who had salmon rivers and fishing camps who liked my work and would ask me to come up and paint something on their river. I think a lot of these people would ask me to come back because I know one end of a salmon rod from the other and I wasn’t a dummy at fly fishing.”
