The artist writes, “The beauty of the California coast is abundant along with the blooms that pop from a long winter. I never tire of painting the coast, especially when the sea air adds its light to the scene. The atmosphere can change in a minute and you have to be ready to capture the experience. I have plein air painted this scene many times and it has given me abundant studio work with every season of a year, from hazy mountains to crashing waves and the wonderful wildflowers that sprinkle the coast, a repose of the mind and a memory made.”
