In discussing this painting the artist writes, “I am always attracted to the grand landscapes, especially Big Sur in California. When you add the element of mist and fog, it can be very intriguing to an artist eye to render the atmosphere that seems to hug the coast and give us wonder. I love to paint this effect, study it and have the viewer see and feel what I felt when I was there.

“Playing Misty, was captured during late spring when poppies are blooming and the air was moist with a light mist. The contrast made with spring flowers and the landscape fading into the dense air, made for the perfect repose.”
