In Teepee Smoke, Forrest Fenn wrote, “During the Crow councils and the annual Crow Fair, the fields most directly in his view from the studio were crowded with teepees. Huge pots boiled late into the night in celebration, and from his studio Sharp painted the teepees, whose bright fires made them glow warmly against the forest behind the encampment.”
