Joseph Barr was the founder of Barr and Barr, Inc., a construction company that built many buildings in New York and Boston, including Rockefeller Center. He was a member of both the Salmagundi Club and the Camp Fire Club, a retreat for sportsmen and artists in Chappaqua, NY, at the same time as Rungius.
