Ken Carlson wrote, “Grizzly bears are great wanderers, and the range of a lone male may have a radius of fifteen miles.… Conservation of grizzlies requires a large territory where they will not come in contact with humans or domesticated animals, preventing the kinds of conflict that often prompt authorities to destroy these ‘problem’ bears, or remove them from the area.”
