According to Steve Burgess, “The Siberian or Amur Tiger is my favourite of all the big cats to paint. The largest of all the Big cats, it resembles the Bengal Tiger in its general aspect but there is more white in the striking patterns of the head and on the underbelly. The orange colour of the cat is more ‘old gold’ than ‘fire orange,’ and for an artist it is a delight to paint these colours against a background of snow.”
