Describing this painting, the artist wrote, “On the Llano Estacado, the high plains of West Texas, a mixed band of Comanche and Kiowa warriors search the vastness for whatever their medicine will bring. Finding an old buffalo skull, a Kiowa brave sings his dream-song to the grandfather to have pity on them and bring them something good. Will it be meat or plunder?”
